Rotten food items (excluding meats) are poisonous which causes the chemical poisoning sickness if you eat a lot of them in a short time. Eating just one fruit is harmless even if you eat it in one go. The poison will disappear from your body in a couple of minutes. The same applies to burned food. But at any rate, we tend to play PVE with PVP zones, Prefer Roaming AI as previously mentioned, and some form of an economy.Time-wise, the fastest way is to boil in two cooking pots on a fireplace in a house. The best way to cook food is inside a cooking pot. Fill it with water, you boil whatever's inside. Then the water is safe to drink. Otherwise you need fat to cook them, just like with a frying pan.
