Plug on a car typically should be brownish. I think these might run more on the blackish mark, but if it's a real dark black it would indicate it is running rich which could explain the back fire. Definately shouldn't be wet (sign of plug fouling). As for the filter. Without the Honda gauge, I used a regular 100psi gauge and got 50 psi on a deadhead. I confirmed the flow rate by jumping the relay. The fuel line was clear and the injector was working fine. I drained the tank of fuel and refilled it with fresh gas.
